My favourite videos on internet

I really don't see very videos on internet, specifically on youtube, I used that website for listen music, play all songs of this artist and don't look at the images. But in very specific moments I watched videos with friends and the have been hilarious, like with these videos.

The first of them is a very funny video, I watched in a party with a friend. Both were very drunk, and when we talking about the "videos on internet", he show me that link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi9xPUmsvV4

Is very funny, we think something very bad, but "who don't live any situation in that video". The man is really drunk, and very step in the street or house is like the worst end of party in the life of any one. OK, es very exaggerated. I never did so many thing in this situation. Independently of that, the short movie is very good, the production is excellent, and the final is hilarious. As with the company of the incredible song of Frank Sinatra, any person know that melody, is a clasic.

The second video I chose because is a great recording of the DJ's world team challenge. I saw in the house of a friend. She show me because both love hocus pocus, a band of french rap and the vocal is one of the dj in that team.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP-86de-oUA

The mix of song is very cool, and the way of they play the disc is amazing. That video reminds us of the fundamental part in the rap music of the dj. They took clasic song of fifties or sixties of jazz singer and mixed with a nice base. That is one of the many videos, the team in the challenge, with the name C2C, wons fouth years consecutive and this year will have their first album.

I wish enjoy these videos and waiting for yours comments.

Moving around in London (KEN'S VERSION)

Last Wednesday’s activity was quite interesting, it was a surprise from Miss B, and we were told to explore London without actually travelling to London, instead, we had to search through the web.

To be honest, I didn’t know much about the city, but it has that historical vibe that makes me want to go there someday. The web quest helped to confirm my wishes, as most of the places we were supposed to go were historical landmarks or museums, and they were only a part of what London has to offer.

Going through the places’ websites was quite fast and easy. Every page had a link that gave directions to get there, that says a lot about what they think about tourism. They want people to visit London in every way!

The most difficult part was wrapping my head around the subway (or tube, in British) system. It’s quite huge and I had to download a tube map from Transport for London’s website, and learn how to move around using it. One thing I thought was “if this is so overwhelming, I can’t even imagine how complicated the bus system must be”, but then I realized that maybe that wasn’t the case, and I’m accustomed to using a lousy bus system (coughTransantiagocough).

To sum it up, I liked the activity because it gave me the chance to learn about such a great city as London, and I know virtual visits are nothing compared to the real thing, so I can’t wait to actually go there!

London

In the work from the past week we had to think about a one week imaginary trip to London. London is a culturally rich city and in the short period of time that I will be there I will spend most of the time visiting museums and galleries, like the National Gallery of Art and Tate museum. In those museums and galleries I would be able to see masterpieces from artists such as Van Gogh, Kiefer and Damien Hirsch. Also I would love to walk through the markets of London, like the Camden market and taste the typical Britannic food.
After doing some research on the internet, I realized that London is not as expensive as I thought it was, for example the tickets for all the museums and galleries are free.   OK, maybe in that thing is cheap, and in others very expensive, like food or hotel. I must check myself in any moment.
With the work we can know the really price some things in London. Is a good way for travel, and to save money for others things in the trip. I do ever that method, for future travels in the world, especially in Europe, or countries with a money very distinct to “peso”.

Giulio Carlo Argan

Hi, I write a mini essay about my oral presentation of today. This way you can know more about one of my favorite historian of art and architecture, and one reader fundamental in the history of occidental's culture.

Giulio Carlo Argan borned in Turin on 1909, and dead in Rome on 1992. He is a Italian person, because of that, he studied the history about his culture, in diverse aspects. Is important his nationallity because his most important studies are about the Italian's production, and when we thinking about the "Italian", only we put a date on with the foundation of Florence, the first modern state. In his book "Renaissance and baroque", he was reflexion to the piece of art in the Florence, Milan, Venice and Rome. Are very short his reference about the production in others places in Europe (even when we know exist baroque in others places, like in Spain or Belgium).
Because of that, is significant when he wrote about the modern art, center on the Bauhaus (a movement of vanguard in Germany). One explanation of that, is when the Bauhaus started in Germany, in Italy the futurists took the control of art, and the futurist is a fascist's movement. And Argan is a member of the communist party.
The polical practics in Argan is fundamental, because of that we can know because he was more interested in the Bauhaus, a school in the left of the politics. Also, the political tendency of Argan did traveled around the world, he found the pieces of art with a strong political sense, a significant topic for a good critic of Argan. We don't forget Argan was mayor of Rome, between 1976 and 1979 for the communist party, and he took an amazing choice, that was take care of Rome, like a one magnify master piece.

You must read to Giulio Carlo Argan, a fundamental reader about the art and the cities of the world.

The Lars Von Trier's movies

Is a extremelly difficult question, choose the most important movie in my life. I love the cinema, in differents styles, from dramatic's movie to the terror films. I follow to many directors and actors, because of that I have watched films of all history. But today, I going to talk about one of the most controversial and strange directors, is the danish Lars Von Trier, one of my favourite film makers in all times. To talk about the Lars Von Trier's movies I choose three amazing films, in three diferent moments of him work: Medea, Dogville and Antichrist.

"Medea" is a film of 1988, and is the adaptation of the play of Euripides (dramatist of the old grece). Tell the history of Medea, daughter of the king of Colquida, she is a powerfull witch that fell in love of Jason, commander of the Argonautas. After steal the "vellocino" of gold, escape to Corintis, where Medea has two childrens with Jason. After this, he flirts to daughter of the king of Corintios (Glauce), married with she and leave Medea. But she decides to take revenge of Jason. I saw "Medea" in my home, a friend give me the movie. Is a film very experimental, the character of Medea is play for Kirsten Olesen, an amazing danish's actress, and the set is a cold and hard steppe of the north of Europe.
Other film is "Dogville" of 2003, and is with one of my favourite actress in the U.S's cinema, Nicole Kidman. She is in the movie Grace, a women that is escape to a gangster, and arrive to a small town in the state of Colorado. In Dogville (name of the town), Grace must learn the personality of the members of the community, and she find that isn't so kind like she think. "Dogville" is the first movie of Lars Von Trier that I see, and I love it. I watched in the cinema, and surprise me so much the set, that is like a teather's set (the wall never exist, materially talking). The performance of Kidman is wonderfull, is the same year that she recived the Academy Award for "The Hours", him best year definitely.
The last movie I going to talk is "Antichrist" of 2009. A dark and controversial movie about a couple that they go to a forrest and freky things start to happen, after the dead of their baby in a tragical situation. Von Trier with "Antichrist" reform all terror's movies, he show us a gradual madness of the women, and the forrest like the representation of evil. The final scene are very hard, and very people hate the movie because of that. Independelly I love this film, have a direction of art very incredible, and the performance of Charlotte Gainsbourg and William Defoe is perfect.

Only I want you to watch Lars Von Trier's films, it's a experience.

My favorite band

Is a really hard decision. I heard a lot of bands and singers, and my likes of music are very differents, from classic music to the rap. Now I heard a lot of "fado", that is the typical music from Portugal, also three disc of Bajofondo, a band from the "Rio de la plata", that is to say, is to form for musicians from Argentina and Uruguay (to stand out Luciano Supervielle, of Montevideo). But the disc is always in my mp3, is the Aquamini of  Outkast.

Outkast is a band from the East Point of Georgia, one of the state more racist of the south in United State. The musicians are André "André 3000" Benjamin and Antwan André Patton, two of the best raps in the U.S. The rap (the expression musical of the hip-hop) born in New York, but is in the south's states, where that style of music find a political sense (better said, other policital sense). The band is most famous for the Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, in this album are Hey ya!, the most popular song until that moment. But Aquamini (my favorite album) is five years before. The rap in Aquamini even have a "soul of ghetto", and the lyrics are more social, and the groove is most slowed.
I know the discsearching Spearkerboxx, but I find this, and I love it. And the best is my friends also knowed, and we like so much the album. Personally a preffer that disc (in comparison of others, of the same band or others musician) because is perfect. Every song is so good. As is a disc that you heard in different moments: in a party or the bus in the morning on the way to University. I can't choice a song of the disc, but I recommend two, for my the best in the album. One is West Savannah, that is the song about the place by birth of Antwan André Patton, that song have a bass incredible. And the other is Liberation, the best lyrics in the Aquamini.

My favourite photo by "Historia Forzada"

On september of the last year, I with my friend Carol organized a exhibition with the name "Historia Forzada". I appear with her in the picture. She is my best work's partner, and now continous work and think together, in new things. The room where we put the exhibition, is the "Juan Egenau", that is the a show-room in the School of arts, and many young people start for there.
The picture was taken by Constanza, other friend and classmate with Carol. She is a incredible photographer, but saddly she don't take many picture, and now work in other thing. Constanza helped us in the record of all exhibition, that is a important part in the art's work. In the picture I appear with Carol, we have sat in the banks front to a video-art by Victoria Bravo, a young artist that worked with us. The video showed two stories with any connection, is a serie of images extremely baroque. She is one of the artist of the exhibition, also we had a three others artists. They had to think about school and its history, with the emblematic teachers and artists that graduated in there. They were accompanied by four teorics of art, and that people worked in theirs texts (that is with the work of art).
I love that picture because is a memory from ours first work professional and together (with Carol). The picture is full of experiences, we worked for that exhibition near a year and the results was fantastic. Over that we loved the work, and laugh us so much. Was a good group.

I like invited to visit the Juan Egenau's show-room, is a nice place of ours university, and ever we can see different and novel works.
